Project Description: To design, construct and commission UF RO System for a Palm Oil Mill

A Palm Oil Plantation and Refinery company which source of water supply from a nearby river and transfer it into a pond. The pond water contains high TDS & silica which can cause scaling in their boiler system. 

In order to ensure that the water entering the boiler is according to the boiler manufacturer specification, they have approach us to design a water filtration system which could tackle these issues. We have proposed a Ultra-Filtration (U.F) and Reverse Osmosis (R.O) system which is capable of meeting the water specification that they required.

However, further evaluation of the the pond water and the river water source shows that the high level Manganese of up to 3.2ppm is present. The high Manganese content in the pond water can lead to fouling of the Reverse Osmosis Membrane. To overcome this issue, a specially developed KMP 0510 Manganese Removal coagulant is dose prior to the River water treatment system which is capable of removing Manganese to <0.1ppm without the use  of  greensand or brim filter. This reduces the operation and maintenance cost as well as protecting the Reverse Osmosis from potential fouling.

A Human-Machine Interface (HMI) System is incorporated into the UFRO control panel to allow for real-time data monitoring and history data collection with a Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) for a fully automated system which help reduce manpower for operating the UFRO system.
